THE A LEVELS ARE OVERRRRRRRRRRRR!

I can't even begin to explain the immense amount of happiness/relief/exhilaration/yada yada that I'm feeling! I feel so free and light and fluffy (though I'm not literally)! But YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

We survived this friends! All that we've worked for these 2 years and maybe even before! Though I'm so thrilled that the A's are over, I'm have a sense of melancholy about leaving CJ! :/

I've never once regretted choosing to go to Catholic Junior College. I love college life, all about it. The friends I've made, the kinds of situations I've been put into, handling people I'm not used to being with and all that. I've learnt a lot, grown with different groups of friends I've been with, tired things I've never done, pushed myself further, work against impossible deadlines, etc. Thank you thank you thank you to all who have played a part in my college life! I'll miss you all! And see you at prom! :)

Woke at at 4am, picked Jasmine up and we were off to Somerset to wait for the shuttle bus to the Marina Barrage. :) It was quite an adventure, looking at Orchard Road in a different light (no pun intended). It's 5 more days to my H1 papers !

I should be studying ! This year i feel so much happier studying for Lit 'cos i think Great Ex is far more interesting than Othello ! The imagery, metaphors and self-deception is so well used and well- planned, I'm just savoring every bit of it ! :)

I digress. I was reading Dan Brown's Angels and Demons in school the other day (such irony bringing an apparently 'anti-christ' book to a catholic school), when a friend commented that she hates Dan Brown because, and I quote, ".. he exploits Christianity and says bad things about it.." In Brown's defense, I think she says that because she has only heard about what others have said about the book and she hasn't read it yet. In the early part of the book, there is some attacking and demeaning of Christianity. However, towards the end, the Pope in the novel defends Christianity, and I must say, quite well. I still prefer the Davinci Code !

Anyhow, after reading another one of Dan Brown's book, I've realised that it's his plots that I adore, not his style of writing. He leaves a lot of knots untied. Okay, shan't spoil it any further for those who haven't read it yet! I just read a commentary on the movie by one of the cast members, he said he hated the book and Brown's writing, but he found the script so much more enticing, so he took the role. Artists, take pride in their work and hold their beliefs strong.

3 major events, lots of emotions, beautiful memories and a whole lot of words and pictures ! :)

3. SYF Presents

Gowns, make up and heels. Nothing but 3 songs playing in my head, notes moving in progression from left to right, a voice singing in my head. The much coveted MENTAL TENACITY. It was great fun, and a new experience for the lovable juniors. :) My family and grandma came to watch me ! :) Grandma got emotional and i had to get away quickly before the floodgates open and let out emotions that should be held back at least for now. Cause Granddad was there for every concert of mine, and he would always tell me I was the most beautiful and i sang really well. So it was emotional for all of us especially Grandma and me.

After the concert, we all went to Chomp Chomp for food ! I ate my frolick, like finally ! And and and guess who I saw sitting there ?! SHAN ! :):):) I haven't seen her for like a year or more ! She was my good friend during the PAE. Shan, Xuan and I would always be together, doing stupid things. But they both left for NP and i stayed. Shan, I really really miss you though you always pon school and you're a blur queen. Love you ! :) Shan's gf wanted to give me free toppings, but I refused. Hahaha, so she just gave me a discount. I hope to see you soon shannie! :) And please Ng Yun Xuan, we had better go out soon ! Please schedules, stop clashing damn it !

2. A Day of Joy & Glory

For this years SYF, CJChoir obtained a Gold with Honours ! :) It was a whole roller coaster ride of emotions! :) And i have to admit, all the scoldings by teachers, bitching sessions by me, etc, it was all worth it ! :D There was just a flood of emotions when the announcer said: " Choir number 6, Catholic Junior College, GOLD .. WITH HONOURS. All the blue people went mad ! We were sitting at the circle seats with a few other colleges. They said they felt the whole circle tremble ! By the time we settled down, it was already choir number 16, we actually cried and went hysterical for 10 choirs ! We are powderful ! :)

Anyway, i really appreciate the food sessions with the choir, across sections and within the Soprano section. Thank you so much for all the fun and what not! :) And a BIG THANK YOU to all my friends who were there to listen endlessly to my ramblings on and on about how i felt and everything. Thank you so much for that ! :) You were my great pillar of support, Rachel Tang, Kathleen(Ursula), Choo, Marc, Jian Yong, Cherlynn, Xinying, Tessa, Germaine, Chiaps, Charmaine, Jo, Mark, Bryan, Grace love, Samirah sweetheart, my beloved CHF and many more! :) I LOVE YOU TTM !

1. CATS !

This is my favourite musical of all time ! I've been watching this on DVD since i was 9 and i can sing all the songs of hand ! :D This musical is absolutely captivating and you really wonder how the great Andrew Llyod Webber ever came up with such good music. The characters in the plays, all cats, are adorable and charismatic. They are absolute world class performers. They are such good performers you can feel their excitement and their want to give you a good show. Their singing and dancing are like imaginary warm hands coming out to you and hugging you real tight. And the woman who sand the famous 'Memory' was mind blowing. :) I LOVE CATS !

The musical more than the animal itself.

All in all, the show was really great though at the start the music was a little too loud and in my head. But it settled after a while. And the stage set up was great. The cast this time was really good, though i prefer the cast in the DVD, after forming a special bond with them. :)

Please go watch cats someday ! It's an awesome experience that i want to share with all my friends !

I finally got what i wanted ! :) A Double promotion ! Am happy ttm ! :D I'm so glad i did my instructors and myself justice ! :) I'm gonna work so much harder now . And i can't wait to join the competition team after the A's. I sacrificed so much of what i wanted to do because of school, choir and all. But no sacrifice, no gain. So i met choo and jy and we went off to her surprise party, only to be surprised by her presence . Ironically . Hahaha, but i was really great to meet up with all of them! We took a longggg time starting the fire, and i fanned a fire out by accident :/ why does this happen to me ? So jel, charmaine and i went off to get some chips and stuff before heading back to share the lot. I had a lot of fun that night sweetheart ! And a huge thank you to janice for organizing the bbq ! WEIGHT LOSS

I came across this absolutely lovable cartoon whilst surfing the World Wide Web. And i can't help but wonder why people seem to have an obsession with losing weight and being 'the perfect size'. I feel like this 'perfect hourglass shape' and 'size 0' terms are so demeaning of women. Not that I'm jealous and all 'cos i obviously don't have that kinda figure, but i mean why should we be curbing our eating habits just so we can be skinny ? What good is there in it ? And according to surveys, anorexic people are not in the least happy with themselves even after they lose all of the fat they ever had in them. I'm not saying that losing weight is bad, its the best idea for you if you're obese and need to lose weight before it takes a toll on your health. Losing weight is healthy, not losing ALL of it. And if you do want to lose it, you should lose it the right way, by exercising. Not stopping food from going into your mouth and depriving your body of all the nutrients it needs to sustain your immune systems and all. It's just not right. Please take care of yourselves everyone, you only live once and you should live life to the fullest and not be thinking about nitty gritty stuff like weight and all.

KAHANG ECO-CAMP! :)

It was one of the most awesome camps i've ever been to ! it was really relaxing and we did very few activities, just that the duration of the activities were longer and it was more tiring. We did river trekking (which helped quite a lot since i was studying rivers for geog), mountain climbing (gunung arong, i think :/), water obstacles, rafting in a lotus pond, rice plantation, etc. and our tent was like a palace compared to the one i had in OBS. It was an eight men tent and i only had 3 other fellow sufferers in there! Meixi, Trini and Chermaine. It was really fun, but there were like a million houseflies there, i swear! They were like coming at us in colonies and it was really terrifying and disturbing. :/ The camp helped me appreciate Singapore a lot more, as usual, but this camp was different from previous ones in many ways. Like, we camped in an organic rice farm, instead of the wild. We ate healthy organic food for all our meals and we did rice plantation there! :) And for the first time in my seventeen years on planet Earth, I actually saw dragon fruits hanging off their parent plant! :) and it was a really pretty sight because there was dew on the leaves, which were waxy, and the flowers are really pretty. And there were many dragonflies flittering around! :) i like.

I had many virgin experiences in this camp, all were memorable. :) It was the first time i climbed a mountain, the first time i planted rice, the first time i had a leech on my leg, the first time i walked in a river, the first time i had to escape from a flash flood, the first time i went into a toilet with plants and insects in it, the first time i saw a million stars all together at once! :) the first time i slept in an eight man tent, the first time i walked in a rubber plantation, in the day and at night, the first time i was so close to a lotus, the first time i dropped a camera into a muddy pond, first time i found a camera in a pond (thank god!), How awesome is that ? Anyway, as usual, i took a thousand pictures. But all of them are with Joshua, who is like M.I.A ! The photos are really pretty! i'll upload them when i do get them. xoxo !

Bon Soir ! :) just got back from the doctor's after Alfresco. Alfresco this year was much more of a success compared to last year and all . :) Jo and I baked cheesecakes and cupcakes respectively. WE SOLD ALL OF THEM ! :) great job jo, germ, tessa, xinying, gerald & osman ! :) a pat on your shoulder ! i'll upload pictures of them all when i figure out how to get the photos from my phone into the computer. all the methods that i've tried don't work at all ! Anyway, i bet we made a profit from our stall ! Especially our $2 polaroid ! hahah , all the couples took polaroids and bought cakes for each other, it was kinda sweet. :)

On a more depressing note, i'm sick yet again. :( i don't like being sick, i feel so weak and lifeless. and i cough 10 times after each sentence, not good. Especially since i love talking and my cca is one that requires singing. Dang. Please get well soon guanling, and don't fall sick anymore. You know how sucky it is.

THE WORLD IS WARPED?

I heard on the radio on the way home from tuition that there are scientists in Australia who are actually researching and trying to create a new perfume or liquid of sorts that you either squirt into people's noses or spray it on yourself to make the other person trust/love you more.

Like whatever happened to human rights and our freedom to control our own emotions and think through a relationship before plunging straight into it?

Come on man, what next? A perfume that makes you shit straight away? Or invisible shit and floral smelling farts? Just let things be the way they are!

And what with the drug that makes people unconcious, this will just make parents worry more when their children are out.

I mean can you imagine someone squirting something into your nose and you start developing strong feelings for him? Like what if he's some psycho or a really fugly and desperate wrinkly guy?

I totally think that no such research should ever be conducted. Imagine how it feels like to be forced to love someone you don't. Its like being Yueniang or something. Its so damn sick.

The researchers are now trying to analyse how coccaine and ecstacy works so that they can like use the same compound to trigger the trust/emotions button in our brain.

I wonder what will happen if that part of someone's brain gets damaged, will he/she be like a living robot? that'll be quite interesting to watch, albeit scary!

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL! :)

this year's been like a whirlwind romance, full of ups and downs.

both for me and the world.

2008 saw me playing in the first intake, meeting my BFF.

making friends in choir, signing up for pre-u sem and all.

then came 2nd intake, another absolutely fun orientation and mass dance.

and more playing on my part.

then fretting about promos like crazy.

some depressing moments, moments of shock, anger and confusion.

but also moments of happiness. :)

personally, in a nutshell, i've learnt a lot more about myself in 2008.

and i've more or less discovered who i really am.

like a stronger identity of sorts.

i realised what some situations can do to me and all that.

but i hope that 2009 will bring me more happiness and good memories. :)

also, more fun, much better results, closer ties and better memory. :)

i've been busy with facil trainings and choir these 2 days . but its all been fun ! :)

facil trainings are not as tiring as they seemed . its all good fun !

on the 2nd day, we had game try-outs . the games we had so far are relatively fun .

and on the 3rd day , it was my favourite ! mass dance ! :) yay !

this year's mass dance is SO full of energy and its ALOT of fun .

so those going for orientation next year had better get yourselves a fun partner !

oh and i failed to mention my house for orientation !

we're the RED HOT AFROS ! :) woo hoo ! we so hot we gonna burn the other houses down .

hahaha , i love love love my house cause we're so damn awesome !

4th December

met up with xuan to go for Supermassive 1.0 !

it was kinda ____ it wasn't as high and massive as i thought it would be !

but oh well, it was still a pretty fun night. :)

i went for supermassive mainly for marcus's band and sharifah's !

but sadly, i missed marcus's band ! :( i was so damn upset about it !

okay, let me tell you why we missed it.

'cos the concert started at 5.30 and we arrived at 5.15 to eat dinner .

hahaha, xuan ate with my family and I, we sat down and talked till it was 6+ !

after that, we hailed a cab all the way up to Mt. Sophia !

thank god we went in a cab, ena had to climb stairs !

and bcos we didn't really like what was happening, we went to timbre to drink.

at 9, ena called me so we lied to the waitress that we lost sth and ran to watch her .

SHARIFAH IS AWESOME ! she's damn hot and seksy on stage ! :)

her voice is the bomb ! i so wish i can sing like her !

after Shah, we went back to timbre.

Prashant finally came after a loooong time.

haha, it was quite funny and frustrating.

all J1's either went to BMT in Pulau Tekong or OCS !

have you ever felt so overwhelmed by everything that's happening in such a short time ?

i'm feeling all that now .

i don't know if its because i'm lethargic or because i'm pms-ing ,

CJC SPORTS CARNIVAL ! :)

T10 won the 2nd best class ! YAY !

i heart T10 many many ! it was fun walking around the whole of CCAB with ppsf !

hahaha , we were unofficial cheerleaders , running from venue to venue to support all players .

our netball got 3rd ! yay ! we have strong net-ballers in 1T10 . :)

we got first for almost all the male track events !

thanks to the extremely fast seniors , especially nigel who hurt his knee real bad .

kudos to charmaine and chiaps ! ya'll are so damn fast ! :)

being sick sucks BIG time .

i dragged myself to school on friday knowing that i was going to feel like shit .

but i did , nevertheless , because i had to do the oral presentation .

oh well , i felt so freaking giddy in the morning that i could not even stand straight .

i was so freaking afraid i would faint .

thank god i didn't ! if not , it would be so embarrassing !

i skipped choir and went home .

guess what ? i slept for 3 hours straight . :) and i felt oh-so-good after that .

went to see the doc at night . and i had to eat capsules .

i hate tablets ! yes , i can't swallow a panadol without breaking it into half .

oh well , i had to break al; the tablets in the end and force myself to swallow the capsule . :(

after the medication and a good dosage of teevee , i felt a-okay ! :))

BC outing today ! :)

out of the 6 bitches , only 4 of us went .

lizanne and rachel had sth on . :(

ifa , kat , me and mag went to far east to eat my first fried mars bars !

i totally felt like a loser , it was my first time . hahaha .

then we walked all over everywhere , singing and bitching . (as usual)

then ifa went off to meet her other friends while me , kat and mag continued shopping .

actually , i bought the most . hahaha .

CJC choral presentation .

today i had my 2.4km AND the concert ! super duper uber tiring !

but my timing improved slightly , 13:25 . (:

then me , cher and xinying went to bathe !

i love the feeling i get after a shower . yummy !

at 3.15pm , we had to gather at the bus-stop area and be on stage with hair done at 4pm .

helped the rest with the buns and make-up and stuff .

rehearsal was darn bad but concert was splendid ! :)

when mr toh says very good , it IS good . hahaha .

cam-whored with the Bitch Club ! :)

i totally heart the BC , i can't live without them in choir .

i'll totally just get bored to death .

SING SANG SUNG .

sigh , its been choir choir choir these few weeks .

we ended at around 7.30-8pm ystd , freaking tired .

we had to stand for the whole 4 hours or so . from 3.30pm .

i can't wait for the concert on tuesday .

BUT , we have no half-day , no day off the next day and may have choir practices on wed and fri .

choir people have no life . :(

oh well , i guess its good exposure and bad timing .

bcos next year's also SYF and the Europe competition . whoa , i will be so free .

on to happier things . :)

dee , jas and zy are coming over to my place tmr !

we're gonna have to choreograph the falcons cheer tgt . :))

can't wait to dance dance dance !

guanling is an EXTREMELY happy girl !

in fact , i was so darn high last night i danced on my way out of the cinema ! :)))

STEP UP 2 IS THE BOMB ! :)

oh my goodness ! if only i could dance like her ! :)

i'll give out free godiva chocs man !

the female lead is freaking hot ! she's got muscles , real ones !

and the dance and choreography is like WOO !

i had to keep my hands under my thighs the whole time to keep myself from dancing .

i really wanna go for dance lessons , but , because of chinese tuition i have used my 'extra' funds . :((

DAY OUT WITH THE BELOVED :)

absolute fun and laughter ! watched meet the spartans and leap years .

i miss jasmine a whole lot and finally got to meet her ! :))

i can't wait for the 2hum gathering during the march hols !

we were supposed to meet to plan the whole thing , but we ended up just suggesting .

i miss all my friends , like A LOT !

everyone , go watch leap years with your girlfriends and boyfriends okay ?

its very touching , just close one eye on the acting part .

wong lilin's acting is great , but , there really wasn't any chemistry at all .

its a very sappy movie about love and how you should pursue your dreams .

and the most important thing : communication is key ! please listen in a relationship .

if you can't speak to your bf/gf , he's obviously not right for you .

all in all , i LOVE the movie . :)

it made me cry , but some parts were rather constipating .

bcos it was sad then it wasn't , so my tears keep coming up and subsiding .

i like the quotes in the movie . :)

this morning when i woke up , i saw the headlines :

and i didn't read the details , so i went to school .

the school was loaded with army tanks and soldiers with guns and all .

army guys with loaded guns and sharp eyes and an armored tank in school .
